This is a concept I have had in my head for a while. I am currently forced to use Daz3D for the eye until I can get a macro lens.

The face was done in Daz3D
The clockwork gears were photographed by ME.

Very interesting. I'm not very familiar with Daz3D so im not fully aware of the capabilities that it contains. The one thing that I saw was the detail in the clockwork really out weighs that of the skins. I kno that its the main focus but I would try to bring out the texture a little bit more. With the lighting that you have I dont think that you will lose that focus.

Great work tho :)

Thank you for the input. The clockwork is actually a photograph that I have meshed into the rendering of the eye. I really dont have a chance or the knowledge on how to push it to the next level.... yet.

I like the concept. Color of the skin is a bit too greenish for my taste. It gives kind of a sick feeling to this picture. If that kind of effect is intended then, no problem.

I'd like to see this done with the eye also photographed. Maybe one day? :)

That is the hope that I will eventually have a macro lens and I will be able to do one with a photograph versus this 3D software.

Is 3d DAZ a 3d modeling program or just a poser? Well if you did actually model this character I say good show. And nice on the gear as well. If you are going for realistic skin I'd have to say to make it a 1024 or higher. Especially if you are going to get that close. The skin looks like plastic.
